Rishabh Dagur is a doctoral researcher in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, working with the Multi-Functional Composites Laboratory and collaborating with the Sustainable and Green Plastics Laboratory at Istanbul Technical University through a joint research initiative. His doctoral project, Towards In-Situ Filament-Free 4D Printing of Foamed Shape Memory Polymers, focuses on additive manufacturing approaches for lightweight, shape-responsive polymer systems. Rishabh holds a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alberta and a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delhi Technological University. His recent research has also examined the processing and mechanical characterization of hemp fibres for sustainable, high-performance composite applications. Earlier, he contributed to the design, manufacturing, and testing of lightweight composite structures for unmanned aerial vehicles.
He has hands-on experience in polymer and composite processing, additive manufacturing, material selection, finite element analysis, mechanical testing and characterization, experimental design, and technical project delivery. Alongside his research, he contributes to undergraduate teaching, laboratory operations, and student mentorship. His work connects materials research, advanced manufacturing, and practical engineering applications.
